Stories for Bats Big Night

| March 30th, 2010 | Comments Off

Plans are coming along nice for our 25th Reunion and Fundraiser, there will be some great entertainment on the night from musicians, singers and a DJ but as this is YOUR club and it’s all about 25 years of the Flying Bats, the organising committee are looking for some good stories to share.

We will be putting together some short presentations on the history of the club and would love to hear some good stories if any of you out there would like to share… some love stories would be great. Did you meet at the Bats, how long have you been together, that kind of thing… if you’re not comfortable in talking about your love life, any other stories would be most appreciated, be they inspiring, funny, sad.. did you make good work contacts, has anything great happened to you because of your involvement with the club, work contacts, networking – how many parents do we have out there, that kind of thing – what we want to showcase on the night is the diversity of the club, from its beginnings to now..

Please send any stories to me reunion@theflyingbats.com and if you have photos even better.

Other things we’d like to do is have a Bats Fashion Show – our strip has had many changes in 25 years so if anyone wants to model some of the old strips please let us know.

Anyone who’d like to donate anything for our raffle, we’d be most appreciative. We’ll also be looking for volunteers on the night to sell raffle tickets and help out with people arriving.

If you have any old photos that we could use on the night as well for our slideshow, please do forward them.

| March 3rd, 2010 | Comments Off

Grading is on at Meadowbank 2

·       Sunday 7th March
·       Sunday 14th March
1.30pm both days

You must attend both days to be graded into your teams and to sign the team sheets.

How does it all work?

Grading is being coordinated by Kylie Conchrane and a committee of volunteers from the various teams.
Grading is based on:

·       the 2009 teams
·       the 2009 coach/ managers recommendations (ie who needs to go up/down/stay)
·       individual player skill level + fitness
·       remaining gaps/skills required in teams
·       individual player availability
Food & Drink

The Cologne Gay Games team will be running a BBQ and selling drinks to raise some money to help pay for their uniforms. So please show your support by eating sausage! Yes, there will be vegetarian ones too.

See you all there!
