Soph1 Committee and Contacts

President – Soph

Name and position:
Sophie Partridge, President

Most people know me as:
Soph, SP, the occasional expletive
I’ve now been a Bat for…
this will be my third glorious year as a proud Bat
On the pitch I’m…
usually running around like a headless chicken, but loving every minute of it. Especially getting to play with some amazing footballers like my teammates
Off the pitch I’m…
still a headless chicken — usually trying to fit in as many different sports as I can, including falling off surfboards and rockclimbing walls. All whilst trying to answer hundreds of emails
For me, the Bats is… everything — friends, family, community. Fantastic football and even more fantastic socialising. Out of the many things I love about Sydney, the club still remains the greatest highlight
If I was an 80s sitcom character it would be …
Ted Danson in Cheers. It suits my goal of knowing everyone’s name by the end of the season!

On the pitch I’m…
trying hard not to trip myself over. Also trying to get fit enough to play again after a season off to coach (and grow a human)
Off the pitch I’m…
playing mum to baby Mackenzie and puppy Molly
For me, the Bats is…
a colony. No matter where I am, I’m bound to run into a Bat. It’s an always-expanding group of friends

On the pitch I’m… a central defender with a dream of heading the winning goal in a grand final!

my community. I love this club
If I was an 80s sitcom character it would be … possibly a bit Fred Flintstone… I often act first and think later, but always best intentions – promise!

For me, the Bats is… a group of great friends that grows every year.  I have met some if my closest friends through this club — FBFC is great way to meet people that you may not have met in any other area of your life. By being on the committee I also get to see the great positive community integrity that this club works so hard to uphold.
If I was an 80s sitcom character it would be… Kevin Arnold from The Wonder Years. Oh Winnie Cooper (sigh), need I say more

General – Elle

Name and position:
Eleonora “Elle” Kazantzis, General Officer aka Jack of All Trades
general@theflyingbats.com
Most people know me as:
Elimination Elle
I’ve now been a Bat for… a whole wonderful year. 2014 will be my second season with the Bats
On the pitch I’m…
an opportunist. I play up front, on the wing or in midfield, so you have to take the chances as they come, whilst executing coach Nat’s famous triangles of course!
Off the pitch I’m…
doing a mixture of socialising, studying, travelling, waiting for injuries to heal and watching football. Sometimes all at once!
For me, the Bats is… a community I feel very lucky to have found. In the Bats you can be having great, meaningful discussions with people one minute and the next you’re in fits of laughter chasing a giant, plush soccer ball around like children (true story). It is definitely my happy place.
If I was an 80s sitcom character it would be …
Memo from Acropolis Now. I can be witty, I laugh at myself (a lot!) and generally sit high on the emotions scale. I get very passionate about things, especially football!
