The Bats is a community; my community. Through the Bats I've met my best friends and my partner, fallen in love with a game I didn't think I even liked, and represented the club at the 2009 Gay Games in Cologne, Germany – a true highlight.

By being part of the bats I have gained another circle of friends who are so varied in their back ground. They are just as capable of sharing a debate on community issues as they are at keeping up with me on the soccer pitch. It’s not just about the sport.

A great start to the weekend for me is a sunny morning paddling on the water followed by a coffee at the market with friends. A day basking at the beach is just as alluring.
