code of conduct

The Flying Bats is all about creating a positive, healthy, welcoming, and inclusive club culture.

While we are a football club, first and foremost, we’re also a family and take great pride (pun intended!) in creating a strong sense of community, where everybody is encouraged and celebrated for being their authentic selves.

Our Code Of Conduct outlines the standards and expectations of behaviour by our club members whenever any Bats-related activities are taking place in order to maintain this wider culture.

The purpose of the Code is to ensure that appropriate forms of behaviour towards each other, opposition players, officials, and supporters is positive, respectful, and fair, and we ask that all members keep in mind that you’re representing the wider club when playing and participating in activities related to football.

Our club is built on four key values:

  • Inclusivity: we welcome members of all gender identities and expressions, ages, backgrounds, abilities, sexualities, religions, health status, citizenship, and skill level.

  • Equality: we want to ensure all members have fair and equal opportunity to access and represent the club at all football-related activities regardless of who you are or how you identify.

  • Positivity: all members of the club contribute towards building and maintaining a supportive, healthy, and encouraging environment on and off the pitch. We’re not playing at a World Cup, we’re here to have fun and make friends and learn in a positive way.

  • Fairness: all members agree to abide by the Laws of the Game and conduct themselves in the spirit of fair play.

As part of the North West Sydney Football Association, we’re also bound by their wider Code of Conduct. It’s pretty much the same as ours, but with a couple more specifics.
